Dail: Life Unbarred
Dail: Life Unbarred tells the story of Dwayne Dail, a Goldsboro, N.C. man who is wrongfully convicted in the rape of a 12-year-old girl. After serving 18 years in prison (more than half his adult life), Dail is exonerated of the crime through DNA evidence. Dail, Interrupted uses documentary video and a unique “online DVD” format to tell the story of Dail’s conviction, exoneration, and his new life as he attempts to readjust to the outside world and reconnect to family.
I still use this video during class lectures to talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the video medium.
