This video profile of the psychedelic folk band Megafaun was part of the News & Observer’s annual Great 8 feature of bands to watch in the music-crazy Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill triangle. What began as a purely print product has transformed into a showcase of our best multimedia. We have upped the ante for the project each year and have helped our site reach a non-newspaper audience.
Filmed in a tiny venue with only two light bulbs and a television set for light, the video proved challenging, but the low-light and black and white cinematography accented the intimacy and religious revival feel of the show.
